    Highly recommended!

This tent is very easy to pitch. So far I’ve only used it 3x without the rainfly and I like it. Good buy! I bought this tent for car camping and I do have 1 person UL Tungsten for backpacking.

    Excellent tent for the price

I used this tent for approximately 3 years, and I put it though almost everything. From the deep woods to coastal hikes in Nova Scotia and Ontario.

I used this tent primarily for backpacking, and it was a tad on the heavy side in comparison to other backpacking tents, but it didn’t bother me much. The tent never leaked on me, even during an Algonquin park downpour, the dog and I were dry and comfortable. Tent is also very durable, I used rocks to secure the tent during my Cape Chignecto trip and I thought the floor would tear, but it didn’t. 2 good friends of mine bought the same tent because I told them it was a great value.

The only things I didn’t like about the tent was the venting and fly. I found it very damp when I got up in the morning, the venting could use a bit of work. And the fly was sometimes difficult to use, depending on the terrain. It never really fit “nicely”, it was always a bit mis-shaped no matter how much I messed with it.

Overall, a great tent I would recommend to anyone. I sold her to a friend of mine in need of a good backpacking tent, and I informed him of my opinions, but he was still happy to purchase it. I replaced it with a Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2, more professional and 2 pounds less weight, but I’ll miss my old Tungsten 2P

Great tent! I just wish the poles could be shorter for packing a backpacking bag

    Very roomy tent!

I never write reviews but this tent deserves it. I got this tent maybe 4 years ago now. I live in British Columbia and its been up top mountains and by many lakes and rivers. Its a tad heavy for multi day hikes but overall I am very impressed with its durability and how spacious it is inside! Sleeps 2 and gear if needed no problem! I'll be getting a lighter tent for some longer hikes but this guy stays for the car camping trips because it just doesn't die. (Note I am very careful with my gear so that might help with how good shape it's still in)

    Great value

The Marmot Tungsten is a fine tent: well designed and very roomy. It's great at keeping me dry in heavy rain, and the included footprint is a nice touch.
Another review commented that it weighs about 1.5 lbs. more than competitive tents. This is because it's made from polyester instead of nylon: polyester is a heavier material. It's also why Marmot can offer a quality tent at this price point, because polyester is less expensive. While there is a slightly weight penalty, polyester has other advantages over nylon. Principally: it doesn't stretch out nearly as much when it gets wets. A polyester rainfly is a wonderful thing--it doesn't sag or need to be tightened after a rain.

    Good, Affordable Tent

I bought this tent a year ago and used it all summer for work, backpacking above 10,000ft in the Sierra Nevada (5 days per week from July - September). It's spacious, durable, and warm. It held up well in wind storms, but during prolonged heavy rain and hail (2+ hours), the fly seeped water where the tent poles rested against it. It's definitely not enough to get the inside wet, only a couple drops make it in, and most slide down on the outside of the mesh. It's also on the heavy side, but very much worth the weight for the price. Overall I'm happy with the tent, and a HUGE fan of Marmot products.

    Great 1-2 person Tent

Easy to put together, shipped quickly, keeps the interior dry in the rain with the purchase of a larger tarp footprint underneath (aside from the one included), and is perfect for one person, though you could fit two smaller people fine as well. Highly suggest this option for your outdoor camping needs.

    Simple and Effective

I bought this for a cross country road trip and was very pleased with how simple it was to set up and take down. It is plenty spacious enough for two large people and with the rain fly on there is extra dry space outside of the zipper doors to set any gear you want to keep dry. The rain fly also has ventilation flaps as well as tie outs in case of high winds. I've used it backpacking as well and when the weight is split between two people it is a good option for comfortable camping in the backcountry. For the price, I would recommend this to anyone looking to pick up a quality tent without breaking the bank.
